PLAYER OR COMMENTATOR?

 

One of the most interesting things to watch is Sports Commentary shows. They can be quite a lot of fun and seemingly informative. I say seemingly because the players who actually labour on the field of play are hardly ever consulted in the discussions.

Become an encourager, and facilitator of good works. Offer a helping hand rather than a shaking fist!

In life and work, we also have players and commentators. Players are those people who are actually performing their duties to the best of their ability. Commentators are those who have all the great ideas but didn't get the job! They occupy the popular side stadium seats from where they shout out 'success tips' to the few who are actually performing.

There's nothing wrong with making comments, as long as you’re not criticizing those who are trying their best. If you didn't get the job, you can cheer those on the actual team on at least. Make a reasonable contribution to facilitate the work of those who are actually playing.

Can we adopt a less critical attitude through the next two months? Let’s find ways to support those who got the assignment. You never know, you just might get picked for the next team.

Very few, if any, enjoy a dose of their own medicine, especially when the pills are bitter and cynical criticisms. According to Frank A. Clark, “Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man's growth without destroying his roots.”
