It has been said, “Your word is your bond”,

But are you bound by your word?

Do people easily believe you when you speak or do they raise their noses and walk off?

Do you make promises just to make yourself popular?

The Bible warns, “be slow to speak and quick to hear” (James 1:19), also “let your YES be YES and NO be NO” (Matthew 5:37, emphasis mine).

Being a man of your word will make people trust you. It will give you confidence.

Remember, your family, co- workers and friends need someone whose word they can depend on. Be that person.

Beware! You will give account of every idle word you speak, (Matthew 12:36).

Be bold. Make only promises that you can keep.
