CHURCH WORK TRAINING:
DESPERATELY NEEDED: ON PURPOSE
HELPERS!
He had been chosen as an apostle.
He was entrusted with keeping the group's purse. Little wonder the others
thought Jesus was sending him on another errand the night he went out to betray
Jesus. The bible states, “For some thought, because Judas had the money box,
that Jesus had said to him, “Buy those things we need for the feast,” or that
he should give something to the poor (John 13: 29). He was expected to function
according to the purpose, intention, use, or design of his appointment.
Working 'on-purpose' is prerequisite for effectiveness as a
church worker (or any kind of worker in fact). 'Purpose' is the reason anything
is done, created or exists. It is a fixed design or idea that is the object of
an action or other effort.
To be effective within your pastor's vision, you need concise
answers to two questions. First is, “Why was your area of service actually
designed?” Second, “What exactly is your duty within that area of service?”
Getting these vital answers and thereby identifying your purpose
at these two levels is necessary to deliver relevant and rewarding service.
HOW TO WORK ACCORDING TO YOUR
SENTMINISTER'S PURPOSE
How can you achieve this?
Ask Questions
…From the one who appointed you, until you clearly understand
your assignment. Where possible, receive answers directly from the same.
Reported answers, most often tend to be interpretations or explanations of what
was originally said.
Wait on the Lord
Only He can input into you the necessary requirements for
success in your assignment. As you wait on the Lord, the anointing upon your
sent-minister will be poured out upon your life. Association also enables a
rub-off of his/her anointing on you.
Giving Feedback to your Sent-Minister
...From time to time. This will help you remain on course. These
points are vital for would-be successful helpers. It is most unlikely that you
will know more about your assignment than the one who appointed you.
17 Then I will come down and talk with you
there. I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon
them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you may not
bear it yourself alone.
A vital point to note is that the
sent-minister is informed by God, while the sent-minister's helpers are anointed by God but informed of their assignments and
duties by the sent-minister! It's the divine unction upon the helpers (that
is Workers, be they leaders or group members) that enables them deliver as
assigned (Ref: Bezaleel, son of Uri - Exodus: 31:1-4; Aholiab, son of Ahisamach
6and all the gifted artisans - Exodus: 31:6-11). God showed Moses the people
who had the capabilities required to deliver the things that God had commanded
him to do.
The Truth Is, You Were Appointed
Because Of
The Needs Of Your Pastor's God-Given
Vision.
Only he knows his needs. He heard from God. Therefore regular
consulting, as time permits, positions you for more information from source.
As a parting word, I would advise that you learn to base your
operations on correct [and cross-checked] information and instructions.
God bless!
Best
