TVB 139: HANDLING PRIVILEGES

BUSINESS TRAINING:

Worship your heroes from afar; contact withers them.
Madame Necker (1766-1841)

*Derek's job demanded he work in close quarters with the company CEO. But unlike others who misappropriated the same access, he considered it was only for the job's sake. He wouldn't flaunt it or take it personal. On one occasion, he had audience with his CEO and stayed on his feet all through the discussion. After a long while, his CEO said, "Do have your seat. I've noticed that you never seat until I tell you to."
“Oh well, ehm, thank you sir!" Derek replied as he sat.

Your Boss may be friendly, or could even already be your personal friend. She may be easy-going. This access lowers her guard with you. You may even get away with things that others are penalized for. In such a case BEWARE! There is a possibility to take her for granted, especially because others see you as 'the favoured one'. Abusing, misusing or being totally ignorant about the smart work application of Access can make your job a little bit more difficult to perform!

Truth is, Access is a privilege. Guard it with respect, wisdom and great caution. Access is pivotal to professional advancements. Learn to identify and practice this Skill. Protect this privilege. It's a smart work Strategy. The smart use of Access is a trained-skill work-style that presents you as A Better Employee! (You'll also learn more about the 'Access Skill' at our Training Sessions)

Best Regards
